Did you now that believing in yourself is a choice? It is. In fact, it took a really long time for me to realize this. Believing in yourself is not only a choice it is an attitude; an attitude that we must adapt and latch onto.
Too often I hear my kids say “I can’t” and it just grabs a hold of me like a python suffocating its prey. Seriously, that is how I feel when I hear my children say “I can’t” or anyone at all says those words.
The sad thing is I can go on and on about how they can but they have to be the one to make the choice to stop saying such things and start believing. I can believe in them but I can’t believe for them.
Believing in yourself is a choice and an attitude that you build over time. I say that because if you have been a Negative Nancy or a Doubtful Dan all or most of your life then you have to reprogram your mindset. You can do this by 1st getting rid of words like “I can’t”. Anything negative will only hold you back.
Believing in Yourself is Up to You
In Jack Canfield’s book “The Success Principles” he tells a story in chapter 5 about a young man who dropped out of school at the age of 15 because his teachers told him he would mount to nothing. When he was 32 he joined the British army of where he took an IQ Test. That IQ Test revealed that he was a genius with an IQ of 161!
The young man then believed the test and began to act like a genius. He went on to accomplish many things after that. All because he chose to believe in himself.
What is it that you are lacking in belief about yourself? What ever it is it isn’t true unless of course, you believe it to be true well then it probably is. Either way, what you believe can either lift you or break you.
So remember that believing in yourself is a choice and an attitude. Start acting like you believe in yourself!
