Do you know how to develop a positive money consciousness? If you said no there is no need to worry. There was a time that I didn’t even know what money consciousness was let alone develop it. So what is the money consciousness meaning anyway?
There is a psychology to money. Most people don’t know about it. That’s why most people never become financially successful. A lack of money is not the problem; it is merely a symptom of what’s going on inside you. – T. Harv Eker Multimillionaire and author of Secrets of the Millionaire Mind
A positive money consciousness is just the opposite of a negative money consciousness. Your negative consciousness goes like this:
- Money doesn’t grow on trees
- Money is the root of all evil
- Wealth destroys families
- Wealth resolves to greediness
I am sure you get the point. By the way as a Christian, just to clear the air, money is not the root of all evil, it’s the love for money that is the root of the evil.
In Jack Canfield’s book (get your own copy===>) The Success Principles How To Get From Where You Are To Where You Want To Be (<===get your own copy) he gives you 3 steps to turning your negative beliefs about money into a positive money consciousness.
First you need to write down your limiting beliefs. For example mine was always “easy come easy go.” I used to believe that if money came easy it would go right back out the door even easier leaving me feeling two steps back from where I started.
You know that saying “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer”? That is exactly what I believed about money. So when it did come my way I was unconsciously finding a way to get rid of it. Crazy huh!?! That is how my mind worked and probably yours too!
So what is your negative money consciousness telling you? Think about it. I am serious. Think about it and then write it down. It might even be more than one thing.
After you have written it or them down make fun of and argue with the limiting beliefs. There are examples of how to do this in Jack’s book. The 3rd thing you want to do is make a statement that is the opposite of what you believe. Such as money is the root of all great things. Literally there are so many ways you can do this. Get creative!
Most importantly re-read the positive affirmation you came up with several times a day for at last 30 days.
